Welcome back to the February 2014 Edition of Spiritual Growth Monthly. I’m Kevin Schoeninger. It’s great to have you with us here at SGM!
In this week’s SGM Meditation of the Month, we’ll practice an “Inner Body Mindfulness Meditation.” This meditation comes from my “Holistic Fitness Training Program.” Today, we’ll practice a 10-minute version of this meditation. In the program, 10, 20, and 30-minute versions are included.
This meditation is designed to grow your inner skills of being present in your body, recognizing and accepting the thoughts, feelings, and sensations that arise in your experience, allowing them to gently come and go without being caught up in or overwhelmed by them, and then returning to a gentle easy feeling of inner presence.
Practicing this style of meditation enables you to observe your experiences with a light self-acceptance that allows your life to unfold with greater ease and flow. You learn to notice “what is” without being so invested in judgments, resistance, and trying hard to change things. In that way, you release the tension of overtrying and settle into a relaxed, present, clear state of awareness.
I would love to hear your comments and questions on this meditative exercise in our Discussion below.
You can follow along with the guided audio above.
Enjoy!
Kevin
P.S. Next month, we’ll explore essential insights, principles, and practices for Stress Relief in depth.
